Functional Skills English and Maths, from Entry Level – Level 2

Pearson Functional Skills are qualifications in English & Mathematics from Entry 1
to Level 2. These qualifications are suitable for learners of all ages, they’re also an accepted part of all Apprenticeship standards in England (Level 1 and 2).

GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths (9-1)

The aim of the GCSE English Language / Maths (9-1) qualification is to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of core subject areas in preparation for the exam as well as to support progression to further learning or the workplace.

On this one year course you will gain knowledge and understanding of core subjects to best prepare you not only for you English or Maths  exam, but for progression to further learning or the workplace.

Functional Skills (Entry level – Level 2)

  • There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Functional Skill qualification at a prior level.

GCSE English / GCSE Maths (9-1)

  • There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a relevant Level 1 qualification.

Functional Skills (Entry level – Level 2)

  • There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Functional Skill qualification at a prior level.

GCSE English / GCSE Maths (9-1)

  • There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a relevant Level 1 qualification.

GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths (9-1)

The aim of the GCSE English Language / Maths (9-1) qualification is to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of core subject areas in preparation of the exam as well as support progression to further learning or the workplace. 

Becoming a successful learner in Mathematics and English involves building a successful understanding through exploration, problem solving, discussion and practical experience. Your teachers will work with you to develop these skills at your own pace, to ensure you feel confident using these skills in everyday life as well as in preparation for your exams. Assessment will be either during, or at the end of the year using paper-based exams.

Functional Skills English and Maths, from Entry Level – Level 2, GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths (9-1)

This qualification is designed for learners aged pre-16 and above who wish to develop the skills and knowledge necessary not only for exam based qualifications, but also progression into further education, apprenticeships and essential life skills.

As a Bridge Training student, you may incur additional costs to attend our course, for example it is likely you may need to pay for travel and stationery. Many courses offer learning opportunities that you may need to pay for, this may include things like study visits, trips and external activities.

 

Any additional costs will be dependant upon the course, activity and associated level. Students studying a GCSE qualification will need to purchase reading materials unless partially funded as part of the discretionary and bursary fund. Find out more on our student finance page.
