What Is Mechanics?
This course will provide you with an introduction to the motor vehicle repair industry. You will have the opportunity to experience, learn and demonstrate a range of basic skills and techniques that will give you the understanding of vehicle maintenance fundamentals. You will be able to practice and demonstrate the skills you have learned in a fully fitted motor vehicle workshop.

Use problem solving skills to repair and mend things. I like to find out how things work by dismantling and rebuilding mechanical items particularly in relation to cars or motor bikes.
I WILL BE…
Working in a garage environment, learning, and developing methods and techniques of vehicle maintenance, supported by safe working practices and parts and components knowledge. You will have the opportunity to work on more technical services such as brakes and exhaust systems, electrics, transmissions and engines.
I'LL GET…
The skills and confidence to perform repairs and servicing on a car, the practical knowledge of mechanics and bigger awareness of my own vehicle. Experience of safely working in a garage and a qualification towards an apprenticeship.

- Level 1 Certificate in Occupational Studies (Motor Vehicle Pathway)
- Level 1 Award in Creative Craft
- Level 1 IMI Award/Certificate/Diploma in Automotive Maintenance.
- Level 2 Award in Contact Dermatitis Prevention
