NCFE Entry Level Award in Exploring Occupational Studies in the workplace (Volunteering unit).
This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop skills and knowledge in teamwork, volunteering and community activity skills.
Edexcel/Pearson Maths and English – Entry 1,2,3 and Level 1 & 2 – Reading, writing, speaking & listening.
Pearson Functional Skills are qualifications in English, Mathematics and Digital that are available in England only from Entry 1 to Level 2. Suitable for learners of all ages, they’re also an accepted part of all Apprenticeship standards in England.
Is this course right for me?
The ESOL programme at Bridge Training will be a stepping stone to prepare students for further education and/or employment. Students will initially study in small groups doing numeracy and literacy (including speaking ad Listening), PSHE, Essential Life Skills, and taster sessions in our vocational training areas.
The programme is designed with targeted support which aims to set the student up for a pathway towards education and employment
Entry 3 Certificate in Occupational Studies
- There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved an Entry Level 3 qualification.

Entry 3 Certificate in Occupational Studies
- This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop skills and knowledge in teamwork, volunteering and community activity skills.
All students who may have not achieved a minimum grade 4 in GCSE English or Maths will continue to work towards either a GCSE or Functional Skills qualification as part of their timetable. |
Entry 3 Award in Occupational Studies
Each candidate must create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit. On completion of each unit candidates must declare that the work produced is their own. The Assessor must countersign this. The main pieces of evidence for the portfolio could include (in no particular order):
Assessor observation – completed observational checklists and related action plans
• witness testimony
• candidate’s proof of work
• worksheets
• assignments/projects/reports
• record of professional discussion
• record of oral and written questioning
• candidate and peer reports
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Entry 3 Certificate in Occupational Studies
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:
- Level 1 Award in Volunteering
As a Bridge Training student, you may incur additional costs to attend our course, for example it is likely you may need to pay for travel and stationery. Many courses offer learning opportunities that you may need to pay for, this may include things like study visits, trips and external activities.
