What Is Barbering
Barbering is a profession in the hairdressing industry and is the trade of cutting, styling hair and shaping and shaving beards of men. As a barber you will use your passion for current trends and styles to continually develop, practise and perfect your skills with a serious potential of high earnings or running your own business. Alongside being part of the fashion industry, as a barber you will also be providing a valuable service to a variety of different clients from a range of backgrounds every day. This will provide you with many challenging and rewarding opportunities to showcase your talents, make your clients feel good and have plenty of fun.
The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in barbering course aims to give all learners the relevant practical skills and knowledge to work as a junior barber in the hair industry. This course will enable learners to seek employment as a junior barber in the hair industry, or to progress onto the VTCT/NVQ level 2 Diploma in men’s barbering. Some of the main things you will learn are outlined below,
- Follow health and safety practices in the salon
- Client consultation for hair services
- Cut facial hair
- Cut men’s hair
